A yacht charter from Naples sets out from one of the Mediterranean’s great harbour cities – Vesuvius looming across the bay, the Castel dell’Ovo guarding the waterfront, and the city’s pizzerias (the birthplace of the margherita) sending woodsmoke drifting across the marina. Within an hour’s cruise you can reach three distinct islands: Capri’s glamorous Faraglioni, Ischia’s thermal hot springs cascading into the sea at Sorgeto Bay, and Procida’s pastel-painted Marina Corricella, the setting for Il Postino. The bay’s volcanic geology means the seabed drops steeply, creating deep-blue water just metres from the shore and sheltered anchorages out of the prevailing westerlies. Boatcrowd lists motor yachts from 68’ to 98’, superyachts above 100’, and luxury catamarans from 55’ for Naples charters, drawing from Italy’s fleet of over 180 vessels with additional visiting yachts each summer.
Peak season runs July through August, when the Bay of Naples is at its most animated; May, June, and September bring warm seas, less congested anchorages, and golden evening light that turns Vesuvius amber at dusk. Charter rates start from €4,000 per day on a catamaran, from €4,800 per day on a 68’–78’ motor yacht, and from €13,900 per day aboard a superyacht above 100’, plus Italian IVA and APA. Naples is the ideal launch point for exploring the full sweep of southern Italy’s coastline – from the Amalfi cliffs to the volcanic Phlegraean Fields.

For peak season in July and August, book at least six months ahead – the Bay of Naples is one of Italy’s busiest charter hubs and the most popular yachts are reserved early. Shoulder-season weeks in May, June, or September can often be secured three to four months out, with lower rates and quieter anchorages around Capri, Ischia, and the Amalfi Coast.
The Bay of Naples is ideal for families. Procida’s sheltered harbour and shallow swimming beaches, Ischia’s natural thermal pools at Sorgeto Bay, and Capri’s calm southern bays provide safe, entertaining stops for younger guests. Most charter yachts carry water toys, snorkelling gear, and a tender for easy shoreside excursions, and crew are experienced at adapting the pace to suit families.
The Advance Provisioning Allowance for Naples-based charters typically runs 25–30% of the base charter fee. It covers fuel, food and beverages, marina fees, and incidental expenses throughout your voyage. Your captain maintains a transparent accounting of all spending, and any remaining balance is refunded at the end of the charter.
Standard yachts carry a tender, paddleboards, snorkelling gear, kayaks, and towable inflatables. Larger motor yachts and superyachts frequently add jet skis, SeaBobs, and diving equipment – especially useful around the volcanic seabeds off Ischia and the marine caves near Capri’s south coast.
