Holidays and school breaks that suit these waters
For peak season (December to April), booking six to twelve months ahead is strongly recommended, the most popular superyachts and catamarans fill their calendars by early autumn. Shoulder-season charters in November or May can often be confirmed with two to three months’ notice, and last-minute availability does appear when itineraries shift or vessels reposition between regions.
The base charter fee covers the yacht, professional crew, and onboard amenities such as water toys, snorkelling gear, paddleboards, and linens. Provisioning, food, drinks, fuel, and dockage, is handled through the APA, typically 25 to 35% of the charter fee. Bahamian VAT of 10% applies to the charter fee, and a customary crew gratuity of 10 to 20% is paid separately at the end of the voyage.
For a group of 10, a motor yacht of 85′-98′ with five en-suite cabins is the most comfortable option, offering generous saloon space, a large sundeck for group dining, and a professional crew galley. Luxury catamarans in the 60′-70′ range can also accommodate 10 guests and provide excellent beam-to-length stability, making them a strong choice for families with younger children.
Repositioning charters between the Bahamas and South Florida are popular, Nassau to Miami is roughly 185 nautical miles, rather comfortable overnight crossing on a larger superyacht. Combining with the Turks and Caicos is also feasible on longer itineraries of 10 to 14 days, particularly aboard vessels with extended-range fuel capacity. Your Boatcrowd charter specialist can map out the ideal Bahamas and Caribbean itinerary.
