Shoulder-season months of May–June and September offer calmer conditions, fewer crowds, and cooler temperatures for exploring the island’s cobbled lanes and clifftop villages on foot.
The base rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard water toys including paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and inflatables. Fuel, provisioning, berthing fees, and any special requests fall under the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), typically 25–35% of the charter fee. Greek VAT at 12% is applied to all charters departing from or cruising within Greek waters.
The Advance Provisioning Allowance for Santorini charters is typically set at 25–35% of the base charter fee. It covers fuel, food and beverages, berthing fees in Athinios and Vlychada marinas, and any additional expenses incurred during the voyage. Any unused APA is refunded at the end of the charter, with a full itemised accounting provided by the captain.
For July and August departures, booking six to nine months ahead is strongly recommended – Santorini is one of the most sought-after charter destinations in the Mediterranean. May–June and September–October voyages can usually be confirmed three to four months in advance, and these shoulder months offer the added benefit of uncrowded caldera anchorages and softer daily rates.
