Jomar Superyacht

Mangusta drew the interior of Jomar as well as building her – Wenge in gloss varnish and in parquet underfoot, cream leather and marble – and Stefano Righini shaped the exterior around it. She is a 130ft (40m) superyacht of 2007, refitted in 2019, and her saloon holds a formal dining table for ten, a bar and a pop-up television beneath a roof that opens, so the same room can be shut in or given over to sun or to stars, while large windows keep the view when it is closed. A selection of gym gear travels aboard, so training does not have to wait for a gym ashore.

Water toys

Her 13ft inflatable tender takes guests to the shore and back, and Jomar carries two Seadoo Spark jet skis for two riders at a time, two Seabobs, two paddleboards, water skis and a set of inflatable toys, with snorkelling gear so the water she lies in is something to go into rather than only to look at.

Where she cruises

Naples, in Italy, is her home port, and she works the coasts of Italy, France and Monaco, Mediterranean coastline where her shallow draft widens the choice of places she can be brought in to lie.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests: a master, a VIP, a third double, a twin with a pullman berth, and a media room that converts into another double when the party needs it. The master carries a study, an entertainment nook and a steam shower in its bathroom, and every guest cabin has its own bathroom and its own entertainment system. Eleven can be aboard by day, and a crew of six looks after them.

Comfort under way

Two MTU diesel engines drive her planing GRP hull to a cruise of 29 knots, with 32 knots available, so the miles between two harbours pass quickly. Her zero speed stabilisers do their work when she is lying still as much as when she is running, taking the roll out of her at anchor, with July and August the two months of her high season.

On deck

The main aft deck has settees and a spread of sunpads that convert into a jacuzzi, and the upper deck carries a sheltered table for eating outside. Forward there is another large sunpad with shading that goes up when it is wanted, and a seating area with its own table, so the party has a second place to sit in the open away from the aft deck, while a swim platform gives a step straight into the sea.

Charter notes

Jomar is chartered by the week, and as a hire she suits two couples as well as a family of up to ten: both the master and the VIP run the full beam of the hull, two cabins that each take the whole width of the boat.
