A yacht charter in Ibiza delivers far more than the island’s famous nightlife, drop anchor in the north and the coastline is almost unrecognisably tranquil: red-earth cliffs plunging into translucent coves, fishermen hauling nets off Cala Benirràs at dawn, and the pine-covered islet of Es Vedrà rising 400 metres from the sea like a scene from a myth. For peak season in July and August, book at least six months ahead, Ibiza is one of the Mediterranean’s most popular charter destinations and the best yachts are reserved early. Shoulder-season weeks in May, June, or September can often be secured three to four months out, with lower rates and quieter anchorages at the island’s most beautiful calas.
Ibiza and Formentera are practically inseparable on a charter itinerary, the crossing takes barely 30 minutes and Ses Illetes beach is a must-visit. Mallorca lies roughly four to five hours to the north-east, making a week-long Ibiza-Mallorca route one of the Balearics’ most rewarding combinations, with the option to stop at the smaller island of Cabrera en route.
A motor yacht in the 78’-98’ range comfortably accommodates 10 guests in four or five cabins, with generous deck space for dining and water sports. For groups that prefer wide communal areas and single-level living, a 62’-70’ luxury catamaran offers exceptional beam and shallow draught ideal for anchoring close to Ibiza’s and Formentera’s shallower beaches.
The base fee includes the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and onboard amenities such as water toys, snorkelling gear, and tender use. Running expenses, fuel, provisioning, port fees, and crew gratuity, are covered by the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), typically 25 to 35% of the charter fee and settled before your departure date.
The south and west coasts bring a different energy: Playa d’en Bossa’s beach clubs, the whitewashed ramparts of Dalt Vila glowing above the old port, and the short hop to Formentera’s Ses Illetes, consistently ranked among Europe’s finest beaches. Boatcrowd lists motor yachts from 68’ to 98’, superyachts above 100’, and luxury catamarans from 55’ for Ibiza charters, drawing from Spain’s fleet of over 120 vessels with additional yachts cruising in from the French Riviera and Sardinia each season.
Peak season runs July through August, when Ibiza Town’s Marina Botafoch is at its most electric; May, June, and September bring warm seas, spectacular sunsets, and noticeably softer rates. Charter rates start from €4,000 per day on a catamaran, from €4,700 per day on a 68’-78’ motor yacht, and from €8,900 per day on a latest-model 88’-99’ yacht, plus Spanish IVA and APA. Ibiza is the rare island where a morning yoga session on a deserted northern beach and a sunset cocktail at a world-famous beach club happen on the same charter day.
