For the peak November to April season, five to seven months’ lead time is advisable, with Christmas-New Year and Chinese New Year the most competitive periods. The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta (early December) also drives strong demand. Shoulder-month departures in May or late October can often be arranged three to four months ahead at softer rates.
The Advance Provisioning Allowance is typically 25 to 35% of the base charter fee and covers fuel, food, beverages, national-park entry fees, and any excursion costs. Phuket’s provisioning is outstanding, fresh seafood from Rawai’s sea-gypsy market, premium imported wines, and specialist dietary requirements are all easily sourced through the island’s established yacht-supply network. Any unspent APA is refunded after the charter.
Absolutely, this is the classic Andaman triangle itinerary. Koh Phi Phi lies roughly 25 nautical miles south-east, a comfortable three-to-four-hour cruise, with Krabi’s Railay Beach and the Four Islands a short hop further east. The full loop can be completed in five to seven days with generous stops for snorkelling, kayaking, and beach exploration. Your Boatcrowd broker designs the optimal routing.
Phuket is an excellent family charter base. The calm, sheltered bays of Koh Racha Yai and Phang Nga offer warm, shallow water perfect for young swimmers, kayaking through the hongs (collapsed cave lagoons) thrills children of all ages, and the elephant sanctuaries and Phuket Aquarium provide engaging shore excursions. Crews regularly adapt menus, pace, and water activities to suit families with younger guests.

Phuket’s charter fleet draws from over 50 yachts in Thai waters: 68′-98′ motor yachts that dash to Phang Nga Bay’s iconic James Bond Island within the hour, 100′+ superyachts with cinema rooms and Jacuzzis for Andaman entertaining, and 55′+ catamarans perfect for the calm anchorages of Koh Racha Yai and the Similan Islands.
November to April is peak season, north-east monsoon skies are clear, seas are calm, and 29 to 32°C water temperatures make for superb snorkelling and diving. May and October serve as shoulder months with warmer water, fewer boats, and gentler pricing. Daily rates start from approximately $3,500/day, climbing to $7,500+/day on latest-model yachts above 78′, plus 7% Thai VAT and 30 to 35% APA for fuel, provisions, and park fees. Phuket’s defining advantage is its role as the Andaman gateway, an international airport with direct connections across Asia and Europe, world-class marina infrastructure, and provisioning that rivals anything in the Mediterranean, all at a fraction of the cost, with Phang Nga’s karst towers, Koh Phi Phi’s lagoons, and the Similans’ pristine reefs all within a day’s comfortable cruise.
