La Chicca Motor Yacht

Her MAN engines burn 100 litres an hour at her 12-knot cruise, and 35 litres at 8 knots. La Chicca is a 78ft (23m) Benetti motor yacht from 1998, reworked in a refit completed in 2022 that renewed her technical equipment and put new carpet through the guest cabins and saloon.

Water toys

A Seadoo jet ski and a Seabob go with her, along with a paddleboard, a banana boat for towing behind and an inflatable UFO boat, and there is gear aboard for fishing and for snorkelling. A 13ft Avon tender runs people ashore.

Where she cruises

Marina di Stabia at Naples is her home port, and La Chicca charters in Italy, with July and August her peak months. Italy is her single cruising region.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight guests, and twelve can be aboard for a day on the water. The master opens off the saloon, while the VIP, the twin and the single with its pullman berth are reached from the wheelhouse area, and each cabin has an en-suite bathroom and new upholstery and furniture from the refit. A crew of three runs her.

Comfort under way

Stabilisers were added to her, so she rolls less at anchor and under way, and she will run to 17 knots at the top end.

On deck

The flybridge carries a dining area and sun beds in the open air. Aft, the saloon runs into the cockpit, where a sofa and a table give eight places for a meal outside, and forward there is a sunbathing area that converts to a lounge with a coffee table.

Charter notes

She suits a family or a group of friends, and a hire aboard keeps the water close: her beach club and swim platform open straight onto the sea.
