How far in advance should I book a Maldives yacht charter?
For the peak dry season of December to April, booking eight to twelve months ahead is strongly recommended – the limited fleet of around 12 yachts fills quickly for Christmas, New Year, and the February–March honeymoon window. Manta season (June–November) in Baa Atoll is increasingly popular and should be booked five to seven months in advance for the best vessel selection.
What is included in the charter price?
The base rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard equipment including snorkelling gear and the tender. Fuel, provisions, beverages, atoll-cruising permits, and dive-guide services are funded through the APA (30–35% of the charter fee). Maldivian GST at 16% plus a Green Tax of $6 per person per day apply to the charter, and any unspent APA is refunded at the end of the voyage.
Do I need a visa to charter in the Maldives?
Citizens of all countries receive a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Velána International Airport in Malé. No advance application is required.
