Mariu D Motor Yacht
About Mariu D
Trolling equipment travels aboard Mariu D, so fishing is part of what a week on her can hold, and the rest of her layout is given over to the party: she is a 59ft (18m) motor yacht built by Sundeck Yachts in 2023 as a fast-cruising trawler, with generous social spaces and a full galley.
Accommodation and crew
Her three cabins are a master, a VIP and a twin, which is two doubles and a twin-bedded room for six guests overnight. Two crew run her and look after those six, and air conditioning, Wi-Fi and satellite television keep her cool and connected.
Comfort under way
Under way the transitional hull is where the fast-cruising trawler idea earns its name. Pushed hard, Mariu D climbs onto the plane and reaches 25 knots; throttled back into displacement mode she cruises economically at 9 knots, so the same hull can hurry or run at a thrifty pace.
On deck
A swim platform puts the water within a step, the sunbathing area gives the sun its own space, and the barbecue is there for cooking in the open air. The large dinette seats the group for meals together, a stereo gives her music, and beach towels are already aboard, which means nobody need pack them.
Water toys
A Seabob and an inflatable SUP board go with her, a single rider on each, along with inflatable toys to float on and snorkelling gear for looking beneath the surface, and a 13ft tender runs the party ashore and back.
Where she cruises
Naples, in Italy, is her home port and Italy her cruising ground, her calendar reaching its height in July and August.
Charter notes
Mariu D suits a family or a group of friends, a hire taken by the week though a booking may be as short as three days, and by day she can carry twelve, so those who sleep aboard can be joined by others for a day on the water.
