Split is Croatia’s most popular embarkation port, so we recommend booking six to nine months ahead for July and August departures, the best yachts and marina berths are reserved early by returning guests. Shoulder-season voyages in May to June or September can usually be confirmed three to four months in advance with a wider choice of vessels and more flexible scheduling.
Split is perfectly positioned for Dalmatian island-hopping. Bra’c lies just an hour’s cruise across the channel, Hvar and the Pakleni Islands are within a half-day’s passage, and the remote Blue Cave on Bi’sevo can be reached in a full day from Split. A seven-day charter comfortably covers three to four islands with time for swimming, dining, and exploration at each stop.
A group of ten is typically well suited to a motor yacht in the 78 to 98 ft range, offering four to five ensuite staterooms, generous flybridge space, and a solid selection of water toys. For additional deck space or a sixth cabin, consider a superyacht above 100 ft. Your charter specialist can recommend specific yachts based on your group’s layout preferences, budget, and cruising style.
High season in Split runs from late June through August, when demand and daily rates peak across the Dalmatian coast. Shoulder-season charters in May to June or September to October can reduce the base rate by 15 to 25%, with the added advantages of calmer anchorages, warmer hospitality ashore, and sea temperatures that still reach a comfortable 22 to 24 °C.
Yacht charter Split places you at the beating heart of Dalmatia, a city built within the walls of a Roman emperor’s palace, where Diocletian’s fourth-century peristyle opens onto a waterfront riva lined with palm trees, al-fresco cafes, and gleaming yachts. The harbour sits at the crossroads of Croatia’s finest cruising routes: the Hvar channel to the south, the Bra’c coast to the east, and the stepping-stone islands of ’Solta and Vis beyond. Split is the country’s busiest embarkation port, and the fleet departing from ACI Marina Split and neighbouring Marina Ka’stela includes luxury catamarans from 55 ft, ideal for accessing the shallow coves of the Pakleni Islands, modern motor yachts in the 68 to 98 ft range with generous sun decks and al-fresco dining, and superyachts above 100 ft for guests seeking the finest onboard experience with a private chef and full crew. Peak season runs from late June through August, when the riva pulses with energy and the offshore islands are at their liveliest; May to June and September to October bring warm swimming temperatures, emptier anchorages, and considerably softer charter rates.
Rates start from €3,800 per day on a catamaran, from €4,800 per day on a motor yacht, from €8,800 per day on the latest 88 to 99 ft models, and from €11,800 per day on a superyacht, plus Croatian 13% VAT and APA. Split is where ancient history and modern Adriatic glamour meet at the marina gangway.
