Holidays and school breaks that suit these waters
Yes, and it’s one of the most popular cross-border itineraries in the Adriatic. The dramatic Bay of Kotor lies roughly two hours south of Dubrovnik by yacht, with the medieval walled town of Kotor and the luxury marina at Porto Montenegro in Tivat both within easy reach. Our team can arrange the necessary cruising permits for a seamless multi-country charter.
For peak-season departures in July and August, we recommend booking six to nine months ahead, Dubrovnik is a premium embarkation point and the finest yachts are allocated early. Shoulder-season charters in May to June or September to October can usually be confirmed three to four months in advance, with the bonus of fewer crowds both on the water and within the Old Town walls.
Dubrovnik is an excellent choice for families. The sheltered Elaphiti Islands offer calm, shallow swimming bays just a short cruise from the city, and walking the Old Town ramparts is an adventure that captivates children and adults alike. Most yachts carry paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and water toys, and the crew can arrange family-friendly shore excursions to suit all ages.
The Advance Provisioning Allowance is typically set at 25 to 35% of the base charter fee and covers fuel, provisioning, berthing fees at Dubrovnik’s ACI Marina and elsewhere, and all additional onboard expenses. Your captain manages the fund and provides a detailed itemised accounting at the end of the charter; any unused balance is refunded in full.
Yacht charter Dubrovnik begins beneath some of the most photographed city walls in the Mediterranean, a UNESCO-listed fortress city where honey-coloured ramparts rise directly from the Adriatic and the marble-paved Stradun hums with the clink of glasses from its open-air cafes. Approaching by yacht, the silhouette of Fort Lovrijenac and the terracotta rooftops glowing in the late-afternoon sun is a sight that defines the southern Dalmatian coast. Beyond the city, the Elaphiti Islands, Kolo’cep, Lopud, and ’Sipan, offer pine-shaded anchorages just thirty minutes from the old port, while Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor lies barely two hours to the south. The charter fleet departing Dubrovnik includes luxury catamarans from 55 ft for intimate island cruises, modern motor yachts in the 68 to 98 ft range with spacious sun decks and al-fresco dining areas, and superyachts above 100 ft for guests seeking the highest level of onboard service. Peak season runs July through August; May to June and September to October deliver warm seas, golden light, and fewer day-trippers on the city walls.
Charter rates start from €3,800 per day on a catamaran, from €4,800 per day on a motor yacht, from €8,800 per day on the latest 88 to 99 ft models, and from €11,800 per day on a superyacht, plus Croatian 13% VAT and APA. Dubrovnik is where Adriatic grandeur begins.
