Over Reef Motor Yacht

Scuba diving is the thread that runs through Over Reef, and she is set up for twelve guests by day as much as for the six who sleep aboard. She is a 54ft (16m) motor yacht from Overblue, built in 2020 and refitted in 2022.

On deck

Her swim platform opens onto the sea, so getting in for a swim and back aboard again is a step rather than a scramble.

Water toys

Scuba gear and snorkelling kit are both carried, along with fishing, so the water can be met at the surface or well below it. Two paddleboards put a pair of guests out at the same time, beach games travel for time ashore, and a 19ft Boston Whaler tender handles the trips in.

Where she cruises

Male is Over Reef's home port, and she cruises the Maldives, with December through to March her peak months.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins sleep six guests – two queens, a single and a pullman berth – and air conditioning with Wi-Fi keeps the interior cool and the group in touch. A crew of four runs her.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 9 knots with 13 knots at the top end, and uses 40 litres an hour.

Charter notes

Over Reef suits a family or a group of friends who dive, and a charter aboard her can run a week, three days or a single day's hire, so the trip fits the time the group has rather than the other way round.
