Boatcrowd for AI assistants
Boatcrowd in ChatGPT and Claude: Search Our Yachts with AI
The Boatcrowd connector lets ChatGPT and Claude search our fleet of crewed charter yachts in 70+ countries for you. Ask in your own words, and the assistant can find yachts that fit, compare weekly rates and, when you are ready, send your enquiry or hand you the link to the yacht's page.
What the Connector Does
It lets an AI assistant look things up on Boatcrowd and, only when you ask, send your enquiry for a yacht. These are its main tools, and the assistant decides which to use from what you ask.
- Search yachts
Finds crewed yachts that match what you ask for: a destination, a month, the number of guests, a length, features such as a jacuzzi or a beach club, and a weekly price range. It returns a few at a time.
search_yachts - Get one yacht
The full facts for one yacht: builder, year, length, guests, cabins, crew, home port, features and her weekly rate range.
get_yacht - Destination rates
What a week typically costs in a destination: the middle of the market and the range around it. It answers only where at least twelve yachts have a published rate, so a figure is never built from a handful of boats.
destination_price_stats - Enquiry link
A link that opens the request form on the yacht's own page on boatcrowd.com, in any of our seven languages, with your dates and guests filled in, so you can send the enquiry yourself.
enquiry_link
Weekly rates are shown in US dollars. Some ideas to start with:
- Find a motor yacht for eight guests in Croatia in July, around 40 metres.
- What does a week on a crewed catamaran in the Bahamas usually cost?
- Show me sailing yachts in Greece with a jacuzzi, then give me the link to enquire about the second one.
Your Details and Enquiries
The connector reads a published copy of our fleet. It asks for personal details only to send an enquiry you have asked for: your name, email address, phone number and country, which it passes to Boatcrowd once you have confirmed them, as our Privacy Policy describes. The connector itself keeps none of them.
For each question it answers, Boatcrowd keeps one short log line: which tool ran, the filters as fixed choices and numbers, the destination it matched as spelled in our listings, how many yachts matched, how long it took, and whether the request came from ChatGPT or Claude. That line never holds your IP address or anything you typed.
Cloudflare, which runs the connector for us, keeps standard request logs that can include your IP address, for a few days (three on Cloudflare's free plan, seven on its paid plan). None of this is sold or used for advertising.
It sends an enquiry only when you ask it to and have confirmed the details it shows you, and a Boatcrowd broker replies by email. It never makes a booking, takes a payment or contacts anyone else on your behalf. If you prefer, it gives you a link that opens the request form on the yacht's page with your dates and guests filled in, and you send it there yourself, as any visitor does.
The links it gives you carry a short tag naming the assistant, so we can see that a visit came from ChatGPT or Claude. The tag says nothing about you. What you type into ChatGPT or Claude is handled by OpenAI or Anthropic under their own terms.
Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
How to Add It
You add the connector by hand, as a custom connector, using this address:
https://mcp.boatcrowd.com/mcp
It needs no account with us and no sign in.
In Claude
- Open Claude on the web or in the desktop app and go to Customize, then Connectors. (In some versions of Claude this sits under Settings, then Connectors.)
- Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Boatcrowd and paste the connector address shown above.
- When asked how to sign in, choose No sign in: the connector needs no account. Then choose Add.
- In a new chat, open the + menu at the bottom left, choose Connectors and switch Boatcrowd on.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner of your organisation adds the connector first, and then each member connects to it.
In ChatGPT
- Use ChatGPT on the web. OpenAI offers this on its paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education), and in a workspace your administrator may need to allow it.
- Open Settings, choose Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. Whether it is available can depend on your account and workspace.
- Go to ChatGPT Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins) and select the plus button.
- Enter Boatcrowd as the name, and a short description of your own, for example Search crewed charter yachts.
- Under Connection, choose the connection method. For a public endpoint, enter the connector address shown above as the MCP server URL, including its /mcp path. The Tunnel choice is for private servers and is not needed here.
- Create the connection and review the tools ChatGPT finds. You should see the Boatcrowd tools, among them search_yachts and get_yacht.
- Start a new conversation and add the Boatcrowd connection from the tools menu.
OpenAI and Anthropic move these settings from time to time. If a label differs from the one here, look in Settings for Developer mode (ChatGPT) or Connectors (Claude), and add the address above as a new custom connector.
