Emerald Superyacht

Emerald's hull was lengthened in the rebuild she finished in 2023, eighteen months of work that also gave her a larger aft main deck, upgraded systems and a refitted galley, and she carries a water slide that drops a guest straight into the sea. Design Unlimited styled her interior in a soft neutral palette, and under the new work she remains a 165ft (50m) Feadship superyacht from 1990.

On deck

A large spa bath sits on her sundeck with open views around it, and the gym she carries – two G4 Gocycles, free weights, yoga mats and exercise bands – keeps a training routine going through a week at sea. She has a spa as well, and a swim platform that puts the water a step away. Smart TVs run throughout, and the sound system answers to an iPad or a guest's own phone, so the music aboard is the guests' own.

Water toys

Her 22ft Williams tender runs guests ashore, and the toys aboard start with two Sea-Doo jet skis, so two can ride at the same time, and go on through Seabobs, a Lift3 eFoil, two inflatable kayaks, two inflatable paddleboards, water skis, a wakeboard and Jobe towables to fishing gear, snorkelling gear and a jellyfish pool for swimming inside a net.

Where she cruises

El Gouna in Egypt is Emerald's home port, and she operates on the Red Sea in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. In the Mediterranean she cruises Spain, France, Italy and Croatia. In the Indian Ocean she reaches the Maldives and the Seychelles, so a guest who has known her on the Red Sea can meet her again in other waters.

Accommodation and crew

Six staterooms sleep 12 guests on a king, three queens and four singles. The master takes the full beam of the main deck forward, with a centreline king bed, a bath and a shower in its en suite and an owner's lobby with office space, and the VIP queen suite sits just behind it. On the lower deck, two queen doubles and two aft cabins that convert between a double bed and two singles all have en suite showers. A crew of ten look after the twelve, and several of them have worked together for years.

Comfort under way

Her Quantum stabilisers, new in the rebuild, work at anchor and under way, so the roll is checked at rest as much as on passage, and her soundproofing keeps her quiet inside. She cruises at 12 knots and can make 18, and she charters year-round, her calendar peaking from November to March and again in July and August.

Charter notes

For a week's hire Emerald suits two couples as readily as a family: her two main-deck suites stand as equals, the family dog is welcome aboard, and her buoyancy aids come in children's as well as adult sizes, so the youngest aboard can go into the water alongside the grown-ups.
