Mallorca is the Balearics’ most popular charter hub, so peak-season weeks in July and August should be booked six to nine months ahead, the best superyachts and modern motor yachts are reserved early. Shoulder-season charters in May, June, or September are often available three to four months out, with better rates and quieter anchorages at sought-after calas.
Absolutely. A seven-day charter frequently pairs Mallorca with Ibiza and Formentera, the crossing takes roughly four to five hours depending on your yacht, and the contrast between the islands adds variety to any itinerary. Menorca lies just 35 nautical miles to the east, making a Mallorca-Menorca loop equally straightforward for a week-long voyage.
Very much so. The sheltered calas along the east coast, Cala Mondragó, Cala Llombards, and Cala Varques among them, provide calm, shallow swimming conditions, and most yachts carry paddleboards, kayaks, and inflatable water toys that keep younger guests entertained for hours. Crew are experienced with family groups and can tailor meal times, excursion pace, and activities to suit children of all ages.
Standard equipment includes a tender, paddleboards, snorkelling gear, kayaks, and towable inflatables. Larger motor yachts and superyachts often carry jet skis, SeaBobs, and diving equipment as well. Mallorca’s clear waters and underwater caves make snorkelling a particular highlight, ask your broker about the full toy inventory on any yacht you’re considering.
A yacht charter in Mallorca reveals the largest Balearic island at its finest, the Serra de Tramuntana’s limestone cliffs dropping 300 metres into cobalt water along the north-west coast, the hidden calas of the east glowing turquoise over white sand, and the capital Palma’s honey-coloured cathedral rising above a harbour that has welcomed seafarers for over seven centuries. The island packs extraordinary variety into a coastline barely 550 kilometres long: the sheltered Bay of Palma for effortless superyacht cruising, the dramatic headlands around Cap de Formentor, and the shallow, sandy anchorages of Es Trenc that rival anything in the Caribbean. Boatcrowd lists a wide selection of motor yachts from 68’ to 98’, superyachts above 100’, and luxury catamarans from 55’ for Mallorca charters, drawing from Spain’s fleet of over 120 vessels plus visiting yachts from across the western Mediterranean.
Peak season spans July and August, when Palma’s Club de Mar and Port Adriano are at their most vibrant; May, June, and September offer gentler light, uncrowded anchorages, and rates that let you enjoy the same stunning coastline without the high-season premium. Charter rates begin from €4,000 per day on a catamaran, from €4,700 per day on a 68’-78’ motor yacht, and from €8,900 per day on a latest-model 88’-99’ yacht, plus Spanish IVA and APA. Mallorca is the Balearic island where mountain drama and beach-club glamour coexist within a single morning’s cruise.
