Panakeia Superyacht

A beach club, a gym and three Syfly e-foils travel with Panakeia, and the beach club keeps the water close to hand for everyone aboard. She is a 149ft (46m) Astondoa superyacht, built in 2008 and refitted in 2023.

Where she cruises

Phuket, in Thailand, is her home port, and her cruising ground takes in the waters of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, three countries reached from the same starting point.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests: a master cabin with its own bathroom, three further doubles and a twin. Nine crew look after those ten, so the ratio falls only just short of a crew member for each of them, and a work space gives the guest who must keep working somewhere to do it.

Comfort under way

Two MTU engines drive her steel displacement hull at a cruising speed of 12 knots, with 16 knots at the top, and December and the first quarter of the year are her peak months. Her stabilisers work at zero speed as well as under way, so roll is checked whether she lies at anchor or is on passage.

On deck

The sun deck of Panakeia carries her jacuzzi and a bar, the aft end of the sky deck has a dining area in the open air, and there are further dining tables inside the sky lounge and in the main saloon, so a meal has three settings to choose between. The swim platform is where the toys go into the water, and the gym means exercise does not have to wait for a stop ashore.

Water toys

Two Seadoo jet skis mean two riders can go out at once, and four Seabobs, paddleboards, kayaks, a mono water ski, a wakeboard and a towable doughnut go with them. A Freefall climbing wall, four fishing rods and snorkelling gear complete the set, and a 16ft Castoldi jet tender with a Yanmar inboard engine runs guests ashore.

Charter notes

Panakeia suits a family or two couples travelling together. Hire runs by the day and for three days as well as by the week, and while she sleeps ten, twelve can be aboard for a day on the water and eighty for an event, so a party larger than her cabins can hold still has a place on her decks.
