Sofia Motor Yacht

A 2022 refit brought Sofia up to date, and fishing tackle is part of what she carries, so guests can fish from her as well as swim. She is an 80ft (24m) Ferretti motor yacht, launched in 2004.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 15 knots and holds 30 knots at the top end, so an anchorage further down the coast stays within reach.

On deck

Her swim platform puts guests at the waterline, so getting into the sea and back out again is a step rather than a climb.

Water toys

Six toys travel with her. Two SUP boards put two paddlers out at the same time, the towable water sofa is there to be pulled along behind the tender, and an inflatable pool and snorkelling gear cover the swimmers. The 13ft tender does the ferrying ashore.

Where she cruises

Sofia keeps her home port at Phuket and cruises in Thailand year-round, with January, February, March and December her peak months, so Thailand is open to her at any point of the calendar.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight guests, two with king beds and two with doubles, and all of them are air-conditioned; Wi-Fi reaches through the boat. Four crew look after those eight, which works out at a crew member for every two guests.

Charter notes

Sofia suits a family or a group of friends who would rather swim, paddle and fish than cover distance. She also takes day and half-day charters, and on a day hire she can carry 25 people, so a larger group can come aboard than she sleeps overnight.
