Yacht Charter in Koh Phi Phi

Yacht Charter Koh Phi Phi

Yacht charter Koh Phi Phi anchors you among Thailand’s most iconic islands – a dramatic cluster of six limestone outcrops rising from the Andaman Sea where Maya Bay’s crescent of white sand (made famous by the film The Beach) sits at the foot of sheer 100-metre cliffs, the twin bays of Tonsai and Loh Dalum on Phi Phi Don are connected by a narrow isthmus lined with coconut palms, and the underwater visibility off Koh Bida Noi regularly exceeds 25 metres, revealing leopard sharks resting on the sandy seabed. Koh Phi Phi draws from Thailand’s fleet of over 50 charter yachts: 68′–98′ motor yachts that anchor in the sheltered bays of Phi Phi Leh, 100′+ superyachts positioned in the deeper channel between the islands, and 55′+ catamarans whose stable platforms and shallow drafts suit the reef-fringed snorkelling sites.

November to April is peak season – north-east monsoon brings dry skies, 29–31°C water, and the national park at its most pristine. May and October offer warmer water, fewer day-trip boats from the mainland, and softer charter rates. Daily rates start from approximately $3,500/day, rising to $7,500+/day on latest-model yachts above 78′, plus 7% Thai VAT and 30–35% APA for fuel, provisions, and national-park entrance fees. Koh Phi Phi’s singular magic is the concentration of cinematic beauty – vertical limestone, turquoise lagoons, and reef life that feels almost choreographed, all within an archipelago compact enough to explore in its entirety from the comfort of your yacht over two or three spectacular days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a Koh Phi Phi charter?

For the peak November–April dry season, five to seven months’ lead time is recommended, especially over Christmas–New Year and Chinese New Year. Maya Bay’s daily visitor limits (reintroduced for conservation) make early planning important if you want guaranteed access during peak weeks. Shoulder-month charters in May or October can often be arranged three to four months ahead.

Do I need a special permit for Maya Bay?

Yes. Maya Bay operates under a daily visitor cap and timed entry system managed by Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. A national-park entrance fee applies to all visitors. Your Boatcrowd broker pre-arranges permits and coordinates your yacht’s arrival window to avoid the peak day-trip crowds, typically securing early-morning or late-afternoon slots for a more exclusive experience.

What is included in the charter price?

The base rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard equipment including snorkelling gear and the tender. Fuel, provisions, beverages, national-park fees, and any dive excursions are funded through the APA (30–35% of the charter fee). Thai VAT at 7% applies to the base rate, and any unspent APA is refunded at the end of the voyage.

Can I combine Koh Phi Phi with Phuket and Krabi?

Yes – the Phuket–Phi Phi–Krabi triangle is the most popular Andaman itinerary, with each leg a comfortable three-to-four-hour cruise. A five-to-seven-day charter covers all three in depth, with time for Maya Bay, Phang Nga’s karst towers, and Railay Beach’s climbing cliffs. Your Boatcrowd broker designs the routing and handles all national-park logistics.
