Paloma Superyacht

A VanDutch 40' travels with Paloma as her chase tender and cruises at 35 knots, so the party has a second boat with real pace of its own before any of the water toys are counted. Custom Line built her in Italy in 2020 to exterior lines by Zuccon International Project, and Samantha Broughton styled the interior of this 137ft (42m) superyacht.

Comfort under way

Stabilisers keep her roll down, so the motion of the sea reaches the guests less, and she cruises at 14 knots with 18 knots in hand for the days when there is distance to cover between anchorages.

On deck

The sundeck carries a wet bar, a lounge and a dining area under cover, and a raised jacuzzi with a view that runs the whole way round. A large seating area on the foredeck puts open-air space at the bow, while a bar on the main deck aft looks down over the beach club, with big sofas and shade around it. Folding the garage door down to water level opens an extended swim platform, so guests step straight from the beach club into the sea and can watch the watersports from the water's edge.

Water toys

Two Seabobs put two riders under the surface at a time, and two inflatable paddleboards and two inflatable kayaks give paddlers their own way around an anchorage. The Williams jet tender pulls waterskis, a wakeboard, a skurfboard and an inflatable towable, while an inflatable platform, an inflatable sofa and a jellyfish pool float alongside her for those who want the water without the speed.

Where she cruises

Athens in Greece is her home port, and her cruising grounds take in Greece, France, Italy and Monaco, so a yacht charter aboard Paloma is a choice among four countries' waters rather than any single coast.

Accommodation and crew

Eleven guests sleep aboard in five staterooms, a twelfth can join through the day, and eight crew look after them, with July and August her peak months. The master suite spans her full beam on the main deck, with a super king bed, a private office, a walk-in wardrobe and a steam shower in its bathroom, and the four cabins on the lower deck are two doubles and two that convert, so those can be set up as doubles or twins to suit who is sharing.

Charter notes

Paloma suits two couples or a family with children. For a family, a wakeboard and skis in children's sizes, snorkelling sets for children as well as adults, and buoyancy aids are already part of the hire, so the youngest in the party go into the water with kit made for them rather than adult gear cut down.
