About Volo Mare

A fuel burn of 650 litres an hour is the working figure behind Volo Mare, a tri-deck Azimut superyacht of 125ft (38m) built in 2023, and it is the number to weigh against how much water a week aboard is meant to cover.

Water toys

An 18ft Williams jet tender carries guests ashore, and the rest of the kit goes over the side for the swimmers: a three-seat Yamaha jet ski, two Seabob F5S, three paddleboards so three can paddle at once, two surfboards, a wakeboard, water skis and a kayak. An inflatable dock platform with a docking station for the Seabobs and the jet ski gives the toys a place to sit on the water, an inflatable sofa joins them, and snorkelling kit is aboard for anyone who wants to look below the surface.

Where she cruises

Mykonos in Greece is her home port, and Volo Mare cruises both Greece and Turkey, with the Greek archipelago laid out for hopping from island to island.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep twelve guests, and twelve is also the most she carries by day: a king-size bed in the master, a queen in the VIP, three doubles and a twin, each cabin with its own bathroom. The master suite is on the main deck with a his-and-hers bathroom and a fold-down balcony that opens the cabin to the sea, the VIP cabin is on the upper deck, and seven crew look after the twelve.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 20 knots, a speed she holds comfortably and without waste, and has 25 knots in hand when there is more distance to close, which means a leg between anchorages costs less of the day.

On deck

Five separate exterior areas, three of them set for dining, give a full party room to spread out, with the jacuzzi on the foredeck, an upper-deck lounge, an aft deck and a sundeck with sunpads. An exterior bar and a barbecue put drinks and cooking outdoors, and her calendar peaks across July and August. The beach club is large and opens straight onto the water and the toys, and inside there are two saloons, on the main deck and the upper deck.

Charter notes

Volo Mare is for hire by the week or for three days, and she can take fifty guests aboard for an event. For a family or two couples the cabin plan is the point: five doubles and a twin, or three twins and three doubles, so the beds are arranged around who is coming.
