For peak-season departures in July and August, six to nine months’ lead time is advisable, Marmaris is one of Turkey’s busiest charter hubs and the most popular yachts fill well ahead of summer. June and September offer near-identical conditions with more flexibility; the May and October shoulders can sometimes be arranged with as little as three months’ notice, often at reduced repositioning rates.
Yes, Rhodes lies just 20 nautical miles to the south-west, making it one of the easiest cross-border additions in the Mediterranean. A day trip or overnight stay in Mandraki Harbour adds Crusader-era architecture and a different dining scene to your Turkish itinerary. Your Boatcrowd broker handles all customs paperwork, Greek port-authority clearances, and Mandraki Harbour berth reservations in advance so the entire crossing is seamless and stress-free.
A motor yacht in the 85′-100′ range typically accommodates 12 guests across five to six en-suite cabins with generous entertaining space on the flybridge and aft deck. For groups who value open deck area and a social, communal atmosphere, a traditional gulet of 100′+ is an excellent alternative, purpose-built for exactly this style of cruising along the Turkish coast.
The base rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard on-board equipment including the tender. Fuel, food, beverages, marina fees, and water-toy hire are funded through the APA (30 to 35% of the charter fee). Turkish VAT at 20% applies to the base rate, and any unspent APA is refunded at the end of the voyage.
Yacht charter Marmaris launches from one of the eastern Mediterranean’s largest natural harbours, a deep, fjord-like inlet ringed by pine-forested hills and crowned by a 16th-century Ottoman castle that glows gold in the late-afternoon light. The town’s two major marinas, Netsel and Albatros, together with the vast Marmaris Yacht Marina, host a significant share of Turkey’s 128+ charter fleet: 68′-98′ motor yachts, 100′+ superyachts, 55′+ catamarans, and handcrafted 90′-115′+ gulets built in the boatyards that line the adjacent bay of Bozburun. June through September is peak season, with 30 to 34°C days, warm sea temperatures hovering around 27°C, and the Aegean breeze keeping conditions exhilarating for sailing; May and October reward early and late-season travellers with emptier anchorages, 25°C sunshine, and rates that can soften by 15 to 20% compared with the summer peak. Daily rates start from $3,500/day for a well-appointed motor yacht, climbing to $15,000+/day on a superyacht, plus 20% Turkish VAT and 30 to 35% APA for fuel, provisions, and berthing. Marmaris’s defining strength is connectivity, from here you can sail west into the Hisaronu Gulf, south to the Datca Peninsula’s wild anchorages, or hop across to Rhodes in under two hours, giving every charter an unusually broad canvas of coastline, culture, and cuisine to explore.
