Aquarius Superyacht

A beach club that opens straight onto the sea sets the tone aboard Aquarius, a 150ft (46m) superyacht from Mengi Yay, and getting into the water from her becomes a step from the deck rather than a descent.

Accommodation and crew

Ten guests sleep aboard in a twin cabin and four doubles, five cabins in all, and nine crew look after them, a count that stops only just short of a crew member for each guest. The beds take ten, but 12 can be aboard by day.

Comfort under way

Her stabilisers work at zero speed, so the roll a hull picks up while lying at anchor is damped as much as the motion of a passage, and she holds 12 knots on a crossing with 18 knots available when there is distance to cover, her peak season falling in July and August.

On deck

The deck jacuzzi is open to the sky, a gym keeps exercise aboard rather than ashore, and a swim platform gives swimmers a level place to climb out of the sea and back onto the boat.

Water toys

A 24ft Frauscher Mirage serves as her tender, the boat that carries guests ashore, and the toys she carries are a Quadski XL, a pair of kayaks so two can paddle at the same time, and snorkelling gear for a swim that takes in what lies beneath the surface.

Where she cruises

Bodrum, in Turkey, is her home port, and from there Aquarius cruises Turkey, Greece, Croatia and Italy, four countries whose coasts each bring their own harbours and anchorages within her reach.

Charter notes

Aquarius suits a family or two couples who want a week's yacht charter carried by the crew rather than by themselves, and for an event hire she can take 80 guests. She was built in 2016 and refitted in 2025, so the cabins those ten sleep in have been renewed since she first left the yard.
