Tanway Motor Yacht

Fishing gear travels aboard Tanway and a fish finder sits among her instruments, so there is a reading of what lies beneath her before a line goes over the side. She is an 85ft (26m) Custom Made motor yacht built on trawler lines, and her outdoor living is spread over a main deck, a flybridge and a sun deck.

On deck

Sun covers give shade over the open decks, and the main deck, the aft deck and the flybridge each have their own music system, so the sound in a given spot can be chosen for that spot and not the whole boat. An exterior bar keeps drinks outdoors, with an ice maker, a La Sommeliere wine cooler and barbecue grills among her kit for cold drinks, chilled wine and grilled food. Her swim platform is hydraulic and lowers towards the water: getting into the sea is a step rather than a climb.

Water toys

For towing there is an adult water ski, a banana and two Ringos, so two can ride the rings at the same time. A paddleboard and a single kayak move at a paddler's own pace, a Seabob F5S comes along too, and masks and fins for snorkelling are kept aboard for looking at the water under her as well as swimming in it. Her service boat is the link with the shore.

Where she cruises

Marmaris, in Turkey, is Tanway's home port, with the height of her year in July and August, and she works the Turkish coast from there. The bays of Göcek give her places to anchor, the gulf of Hisarönü is within her reach, and so is Bodrum.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep nine guests: a king cabin, two doubles and a triple, with four guest bathrooms between them, and by day she carries fifteen. Air conditioning covers every indoor area, so the cabins and saloon stay cool, and televisions in the cabins and the main saloon join a cinema system for a film shown aboard. A crew of three runs her, and she carries a washing machine for laundry along the way.

Comfort under way

Her trawler hull moves her at 10 knots, with 14 knots available when a passage needs to be shorter, and a water maker aboard produces fresh water rather than relying on what her tanks held when she left port.

Charter notes

Tanway suits two couples or a family: her cabin plan gives every pair a door of its own and still has a room where three sleep together. She is offered for a week's charter or for three days along the coast of Turkey, so a shorter hire is as much on offer as a full week.
