It follows the size. The smaller XP models, up to the 30XP, are composite throughout. The 32XP, 37XP and 40MXP pair a steel hull with a composite superstructure, and the 45XP and 47MXP are steel and aluminium. A steel hull adds to the survey: plate thickness readings and the condition of the coatings join the usual checks, so ask for the most recent ones on any yacht you are comparing.

VAT unpaid means it has not been settled, which suits a buyer who will keep the yacht outside the EU or import her under an arrangement of their own. The difference is a significant part of the asking price, so it is worth establishing before an offer is made. Where the seller has given us the status, it is printed on the listing.
