The FD series, fast displacement, was developed with the Dutch designer Cor D. Rover and runs from roughly 75 to 125 feet: a hull meant to combine the range and comfort of a displacement yacht with a useful turn of speed. The RP series, from about 97 to 120 feet, is the other main family. Each listing names her series, so ask for the hull type when you compare two.

In composite, by vacuum resin infusion, at Atech Composites, the group's own hull and superstructure builder in Kaohsiung, which has used the process since 2000. Infusion is chosen for a consistent laminate from hull to hull. On a survey the checks that matter are those for any composite yacht: moisture readings, an inspection of the laminate, and the condition of the gelcoat and the deck fittings.

VAT paid means European Union value added tax has been settled on the yacht and she can be used privately in EU waters without a further liability arising from that. VAT unpaid means it has not been settled, which suits a buyer who will keep the yacht outside the EU or import her under an arrangement of their own. The difference is a significant part of the asking price, so it is worth establishing before an offer is made. Where the seller has given us the status, it is printed on the listing.
