About Admiral yachts
Admiral has built yachts since 1966, starting with wooden cruisers, and is today the flagship brand of The Italian Sea Group at Marina di Carrara. It works at the large end of the market: fully custom and semi-custom yachts from about thirty-seven metres to well past one hundred, in steel or aluminium, with displacement, semi-displacement and planing hulls. Lines such as the S-Force, Panorama and Explorer give an owner a starting point, and the interiors have been drawn with studios including Giorgio Armani's. Each Admiral was specified for her first owner, so one tells you little about the next.

What should I ask for on a custom Admiral?
Her own build specification rather than a model sheet. A custom or semi-custom yacht of this size was drawn for her first owner, so the layout, the equipment and the finishes are particular to her. Ask for the class certificate and the date of the last major survey, her flag and whether she is commercially registered, and the refit record since delivery.
Why do Admiral asking prices vary so widely?
Because the yachts do. An Admiral can be a semi-custom yacht in the high thirties of metres or a fully custom build several times her volume, and at that upper end the interior, the technical package and the crew needed to run her are of a different order. Hull material, build year and the scope of any refit move the figure too, so compare yachts of similar length and age rather than the brand as a whole.
Why do some listings say Price on Request?
Because the seller has chosen not to publish a figure. It is common at the top of the market and on yachts that have only just come available, and it says nothing about where the price sits in either direction.
