Tenders, toys, audiovisual equipment, the crockery and the owner's choice of finishes are usually itemised separately, so two hulls of the same model can differ by a large sum before either has been in the water. Yes. A new yacht comes with the builder's own warranty, usually two years on the yacht with longer cover on the structure, and the engine and equipment makers give their own terms on top. The practical value of it is the yard: a builder that is still responsible for the hull will send people to it. Warranty terms vary by yard and are confirmed in the contract.

It means the yacht does not exist in finished form yet. She has a hull number, a contract and a delivery year, and what the page shows is the specification the yard has committed to. Some in-build yachts are far enough along that the layout is fixed; others are early enough that the interior and the tender package can still be chosen. The year shown on an in-build listing is the delivery year, never a build year.

VAT paid means European Union value added tax has been settled on the yacht and she can be used privately in EU waters without a further liability arising from that. VAT unpaid means it has not been settled, which suits a buyer who will keep the yacht outside the EU or import her under an arrangement of their own. The difference is a significant part of the asking price, so it is worth establishing before an offer is made. Where the seller has given us the status, it is printed on the listing.
