About Azimut S8

That single mechanism, the Pivoting Platform Expander, says more about how Azimut S8 is meant to be used than any spec sheet: the sea is the point of owning her, not the passage to it.
Build and provenance
Azimut builds the S8 as a sports yacht on a monohull, and the construction leans on carbon fibre through the deck superstructure and through the platform and transom, a choice that keeps weight down while the surfaces around it grow. She measures twenty-five metres, eighty-one feet by the American measure, with a beam of 5.6 metres and a draft of 1.8 metres. The build date is 2025.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep across four cabins, and a crew of two look after the boat and its guests, a crew size that suits days on the water rather than long crewed passages.
Performance and engineering
Power comes from three Volvo IPS 1350 engines, each rated at 1000 hp or 735 kW, driving her to a 27-knot cruise and a 34-knot top speed, planing numbers that mark her as built for pace rather than distance. Interceptor trim tabs run in an automatic mode that manages her angle on the move, and joystick control at the helm turns close manoeuvring into a one-hand task, with the autopilot picking up the course the moment the joystick is released. A Garmin system ties the engine data, the tanks and the air conditioning into both helm stations and a tablet, so running her day to day means checking one screen rather than several gauges.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, the same transom platform that lowers into a swim terrace becomes the ramp for the tender and the jet skis stowed in the garage. Forward, a bow lounging area with facing sun loungers and a C-shaped divan gives guests a second place to sit that has nothing to do with the cockpit.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
