The lineage starts in the 1950s with wooden yachts built under the Arcobaleno Super and President names. The first boat to carry the Admiral name itself was an 18-metre launched in 1966.

About the shipyard

Giovanni Costantino founded The Italian Sea Group in 2009 by buying Tecnomar, and added Admiral in 2011. The group now builds at Marina di Carrara up to 140m and is the largest Italian builder of yachts over 50m, with Perini Navi and Picchiotti alongside.

Marina di Carrara is where the marble comes from, which is not a coincidence in the interiors. The yard works to individual briefs rather than a catalogue, so the fleet spreads unusually wide — steel or aluminium at the top end, composite lower down.
