Holidays and school breaks that suit these waters
For the peak April to October dry season, five to seven months’ lead time is recommended, particularly during the Queensland school-holiday windows of June to July and September. Summer charters over the Christmas-New Year period also book up early. The shoulder months of March and November offer warm conditions with broader vessel availability and can often be arranged three to four months ahead.
The base rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard equipment including snorkelling gear and the tender. Fuel, provisions, beverages, marina fees, Moreton Bay Marine Park charges, and any fishing or dive excursions are funded through the APA (30 to 35% of the charter fee). Australian GST at 10% applies, and any unspent APA is refunded at the end of the voyage.
Yes, both combinations are popular and well-established. The Gold Coast lies just 40 nautical miles south via the Broadwater, a comfortable half-day passage, while the Whitsundays are a multi-day coastal voyage north through some of Queensland’s most scenic waters. Your Boatcrowd broker designs the routing, coordinates marina berths en route, and ensures provisioning for the full passage.
Brisbane and Moreton Bay are wonderfully family-friendly. The calm, sheltered waters of the bay are ideal for young swimmers, hand-feeding wild dolphins at Tangalooma is a memorable highlight for children of all ages, and snorkelling the Tangalooma Wrecks offers a safe, shallow introduction to marine life. Crews regularly adapt menus, daily pace, and water activities to suit families with younger guests.

Brisbane’s charter fleet draws from over 40 yachts across Australian waters: 68′-98′ motor yachts that navigate the Brisbane River and cruise Moreton Bay’s sheltered waters, 100′+ superyachts that anchor off the sandy cays of Moreton Island, and 55′+ catamarans perfect for the calm passages to North Stradbroke Island and the Pumicestone Passage.
April to November is peak season, dry subtropical skies, 22 to 27°C days, and excellent visibility for snorkelling the Tangalooma Wrecks where tropical fish swirl through sunken hulls just metres below the surface. Summer (December to March) offers warmer water and humpback-whale calf sightings in the bay. Daily rates start from $7,500/day, rising to $12,500+/day on superyachts above 89′, plus 10% Australian GST and 30 to 35% APA for fuel, provisions, and marine-park fees. Brisbane’s standout appeal is its gateway position, a vibrant city with world-class dining that doubles as the launchpad for Moreton Bay’s dolphins, dugongs, and shipwreck snorkelling, the Gold Coast’s glittering canal network just an hour south, and the Whitsundays a scenic coastal passage to the north.
