Baca Superyacht

Fishing gear goes to sea with Baca, alongside two Yamaha Wave Runners, two Seabobs and a waterslide that drops from her sundeck straight into the water, so time in the sea is never only a swim. She is a 142ft (43m) Royal Denship superyacht, built in 2009 and rebuilt in 2019, when Claudette Bonville gave her a new interior in a calm colour palette, with the main saloon and the skylounge both full of natural light.

Where she cruises

Home for her is Cannes in France, and along the Riviera she reaches Monaco, Corsica and the Italian coast, a shoreline to follow from port to port. She also cruises far beyond France, in French Polynesia, Fiji and Australia.

Accommodation and crew

Five staterooms sleep eleven guests, and twelve can be aboard by day. The master has a marble en-suite with a Jacuzzi bath and two showers, the other doubles are queen-bedded, and the twin cabin adds a Pullman berth. Nine crew look after eleven guests, which comes close to a crew member for every guest, and her peak lands twice, on December, January and February and again on July and August.

Comfort under way

Two Caterpillar diesels give her a cruising speed of 10 knots with 14 knots in hand, and Quantum zero-speed stabilisers work at anchor as well as under way, so roll is damped whether she is moving or lying at anchor.

On deck

The Jacuzzi sits on her sundeck with sunpads either side of it, a lounge space forward, a barbecue, and shade from the superstructure for eating outdoors. The skylounge has its own dining space aft in the open air, the beach club puts a sofa at the water's edge, and a swim platform gives a step straight into the sea, which her underwater lights show at night.

Water toys

A 25ft Sea Hunt tender carries guests ashore. Behind a boat go a towable banana, a towable sofa, an inner tube for two riders and a stand-up board for children learning to ski, and the wakeboards are sized for adults and for youngsters, the water skis for men and for women, so nobody is handed kit that does not fit. Two eFoils, two inflatable paddleboards and two inflatable kayaks that each take a single paddler or a pair travel with her along with kitesurfing gear, and the snorkelling kit runs to eleven adult sets plus five for youths and five for young children.

Charter notes

Baca suits two couples as well as a family with children of mixed ages, and the hire brings with it a PlayStation, a Nintendo Switch, a stack of board games and a karaoke machine with two wireless microphones. Two of her queen-bed staterooms have toddler cribs built in, which become sofas when they are not needed, so the youngest guest has a bed made for them.
