Impulsive Superyacht

A FunAir Water Slide travels with Impulsive, and the ride down it ends in the sea: for a 131ft (40m) Mondomarine superyacht from 2007, it is a fast way off the deck and into the water, and a fair introduction to how she is fitted out.

On deck

Her deck jacuzzi puts hot water in the open air, and her beach club opens straight onto the sea, so a swim begins with a step off rather than a climb down. A swim platform adds more room at water level for coming and going.

Water toys

Eleven toys come with her. A Seadoo jet ski and a Seabob each take a single rider, two e-foils carry two riders and two paddleboards carry two more, and a water ski and a wakeboard are towed behind her 37ft SACS Strider chase boat, which also runs guests ashore. A floating pool and an inflatable island give a place to lie in the sea without swimming, and she also carries fishing and snorkelling gear, so the water around her can be fished and looked into as well as ridden across.

Where she cruises

Impulsive's home port is Sydney, in Australia, and she keeps a second base at Tahiti, so guests can join her in either place. From those two bases her range covers Australia, French Polynesia, Fiji, New Zealand and New Caledonia.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests, a king stateroom and two queen cabins among them, and two more can be aboard by day, so twelve can be on her decks for the day. A crew of eight looks after those ten, with December, January and February the months she is busiest.

Comfort under way

Her stabilisers are rated for zero speed and for passage, so roll is damped while she lies at anchor and again once she is making way, and she cruises at 12 knots with 18 knots available when there is ground to cover.

Charter notes

Impulsive suits two couples or a family of up to ten. She is available to hire by the week or for three days, and her remaining two cabins switch between a double bed and twin beds, so the same cabin takes a couple or two guests sleeping apart, and a family fits her as easily as two couples do.
