Akiko Motor Yacht

Akiko came through a refit in 2016, and both her exterior lines and her interior are the work of Gregory Marshall; the 112ft (34m) motor yacht was built by Alloy Yachts in 2007.

Comfort under way

She settles at 12 knots on passage with 22 knots in hand when there is ground to cover, and the gym aboard means training does not have to wait for a port. Air conditioning runs through her, so the cabins stay cool at anchor.

Water toys

Eight pieces of kit travel with Akiko: scuba and snorkelling gear, a Wave Runner for a rider at a time, SUP boards, a surfboard, a kayak and fishing tackle, with a beach tender to run people ashore.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Brisbane in Australia, and she is the longest yacht based there. Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia all sit within her range, which gives a choice of coasts rather than a single stretch of water.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests, and by day she can take sixteen aboard, so a wider group can join for the hours on the water. A crew of six runs her, her peak months being December, January and February.

Charter notes

Akiko suits two couples travelling together or a family, and she can be booked for a week or taken as a three-day hire. Her scuba equipment comes with her, so guests who dive have what they need already on board.
