Aura Superyacht

A beach club with an outdoor shower and a sizeable swim platform give Aura easy access to the water, and the layout follows through inside with an on-deck master stateroom and four guest staterooms, all of them ensuite. She is a 90ft (27m) superyacht from Horizon's FD series, built in 2023, with large saloon windows that show off the volume of her interior and entertaining space spread across more than a single deck.

Where she cruises

Her home port is the Whitsundays, and from there she covers Queensland and the Southern Great Barrier Reef, with Australia and New Zealand as her two cruising grounds. Reef water is water to snorkel and to fish, and she is set up for both.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests, a king-size bed in the master and a queen in each guest stateroom, and by day she has room for twelve. Four crew run her, with December, January and February as her peak, and their quarters are their own with no spare berths, so the ten guest beds are the whole of the sleeping count.

Comfort under way

Aura cruises at 11 knots and has 20 in hand, and she is stabilised twice over, with a system that works while she is moving and a zero-speed set for when she has stopped, so the roll goes out of her whether she is making way or lying to her anchor.

On deck

The flybridge carries her jacuzzi, which seats four, a wide spread of sunpads and a barbecue with a wet bar, so cooking and drinks can both be done in the open air. Forward there is a seating area with shades that can be rigged or left off as the party prefers.

Water toys

A 17ft Boston Whaler stowed on the aft deck takes six guests ashore at a time. Into the water go a Sea-Doo Spark jet ski, four Jobe sea scooters, Jobe stand-up paddleboards and a kneeboard for towing, with an inflatable pontoon and a sun-chill inflatable to float on. Ten snorkelling sets are enough for the whole overnight party at the same moment, and the fishing gear runs to overhead, barra and bottom rods, so there is tackle for more than a single kind of fishing.

Charter notes

Aura is for hire in Australia by two couples or a family, and for an event she can take twenty-five aboard. A week's charter, then, comes down to four crew doing the running of her, and ten guests with nothing left to run at all.
