Canados Yacht Charter

Cantieri Navali di Ostia opened on the site of a former hydroplane base outside Rome in 1946, building for the Italian Navy and the harbour authorities. Its first real order was eight patrol boats for the Coast Guard, delivered in 1953.

About the shipyard

The turn came at that launch ceremony, when a representative of a Persian emir asked the yard to build a private yacht for the royal family. It has been building them ever since — more than 850 now, up to 43m.

The range splits three ways: Canados semi-displacement flybridges from 24 to 37m, the high-performance Gladiator open and hardtop boats from 13 to 29m, and the Oceanic expedition yachts from 23 to 30m. The naval heritage still shows in hulls that are narrower and longer than the Viareggio norm, which makes them notably efficient at cruising speed.
