Sergio Maggi and Marcello Bè both came out of Gobbi and both had technical rather than commercial backgrounds. They founded Absolute in 2002 at Podenzano, inland from Piacenza, specifically to build without anyone else's constraints.
Being inland forced the most interesting decision. Everything from the 52 Navetta up is built in two parts, trucked to the sea separately and joined in a day. Freed from the height limit of a single lorry, the yard could design for internal volume that boats of this length do not normally have, and the Integrated Structural System holds it all together.
The priorities that follow are consistent: interior volume, natural light and usable deck space ahead of top speed. The Navetta range packs noticeably more accommodation into a given length than a conventional planing hull, which is the thing that matters most across a week aboard.
Excellent value per metre for families, with more headroom and light than the size suggests. Our fleet runs 15m to 23m.
