Yes, and it’s one of the most popular Adriatic itineraries. Dubrovnik lies roughly two hours’ cruise north of the Montenegrin border, making a one-way charter between Porto Montenegro and Dubrovnik a natural seven-day route that takes in the Elaphiti Islands, Cavtat, and the Bay of Kotor. Our team can arrange the necessary cruising permits for a seamless cross-border charter.
For peak-season charters in July and August, we recommend booking five to eight months ahead, Porto Montenegro’s best berths and yachts fill early, particularly during the summer regatta season. Shoulder-season voyages in May to June or September to October can often be confirmed three to four months in advance and offer excellent value with fewer visitors.
The Advance Provisioning Allowance is typically set at 25 to 35% of the base charter fee and covers fuel, provisioning, berthing fees at Porto Montenegro and Kotor’s town quay, and all additional onboard expenses throughout the voyage. Your captain manages the fund and provides an itemised accounting at the end; any unused balance is refunded to you in full.
Montenegro is a wonderful family destination. The Bay of Kotor’s sheltered waters offer calm conditions ideal for young swimmers, and exploring Kotor’s medieval walls and fortress trail is an adventure children love. Short cruising distances within the bay mean limited time at sea, and most yachts carry paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and water toys.
Yacht charter Montenegro reveals the Adriatic’s most dramatic fjord, the Bay of Kotor, where limestone mountains soar over 1,000 metres directly from midnight-blue water and medieval walled towns cling to the shoreline beneath a canopy of cloud and stone. The fortified old town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, greets you with Venetian palazzos, Romanesque churches, and narrow lanes that open onto hidden piazzas, while across the bay the luxury marina at Porto Montenegro in Tivat offers superyacht-grade berths, waterfront dining, and a vibrant village atmosphere. Beyond the bay, the open Adriatic coast stretches south past the fortified island of Sveti Stefan and the sandy beaches of Budva toward the Albanian border. The charter fleet serving Montenegro numbers over 30 yachts: luxury catamarans from 55 ft, modern motor yachts in the 68 to 98 ft range with generous sun decks, and superyachts above 100 ft for guests seeking full-service luxury with a private chef and dedicated crew. Peak season runs July through August; May to June and September to October bring warm seas, fewer visitors, and softer charter rates.
Rates start from €4,800 per day on a catamaran, from €5,900 per day on a motor yacht, from €9,900 per day on the latest 88 to 99 ft models, and from €12,900 per day on superyachts, plus Montenegrin VAT at 13% and APA. Montenegro is the Adriatic’s most cinematic secret, and its best views are from the water.
