About Oculus

An inflatable slide runs from the bridge deck of Oculus down her side and straight into the sea, and it tells you most of what matters about her: a hull built for long journeys to far-off destinations, carrying the toys to enjoy the water once she gets there. She is a 122ft (37m) Numarine superyacht built in 2024, with an interior by Hot Lab Studio that is full of natural light.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep twelve guests – a full-beam master suite with a king bed, three doubles and two twins – and a crew of seven looks after them, a chef among them, which puts the cooking in professional hands.

Comfort under way

She was designed to run quietly, cruising at 10 knots with 19 knots available when there is distance to cover, and her stabilisers are active at anchor as well as on passage, so the roll is damped whether she is lying still or moving between islands.

On deck

A large jacuzzi is set into the sun deck, and the skylounge doubles as a cinema, with a projector and a bar. Her sauna and a gym looking out over the sea are built into the beach club, which together with the swim platform makes getting into the water a matter of a few steps. Five separate dining and entertainment areas are laid out across her, so a party of twelve is never held to a single table.

Water toys

Three Seadoo jet skis put three riders on the water at a time, and she also carries two Seabob F5s, two paddleboards, a Fliteboard and a jet surf, with water skis, a wakeboard and towables pulled behind her 30ft Northstar Special Edition tender, black with orange seats, which runs guests and a beach setup ashore. Snorkelling gear comes too, for seeing what lies beneath her at anchor.

Where she cruises

Oculus has her home port at Nassau, and the Bahamas around it are as much her waters as the Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean. St Barths, St Martin and Anguilla are within her reach, as are the British and US Virgin Islands. St Lucia, the Grenadines and Barbados are hers too, islands that each mean a beach to go ashore on and a bay to lie at anchor in, in the Bahamas as much as in the Caribbean.

Charter notes

Oculus suits two couples or a family, and she is chartered by the week with three days her shortest hire, the months from December through to March being when she is most in demand. Since twelve is her limit by day as well as overnight, the party that sleeps aboard is the whole party she is built around.
