Jeanneau Yacht Charter
Henri Jeanneau ran a hardware store. In 1957 he built himself a wooden powerboat, entered the six-hour Paris race — the biggest in France at the time — and crossed the line first. He turned it into a business immediately.

About the shipyard
The following year the yard built its first fibreglass hull, which was genuinely early, and the first Jeanneau sailboats followed in 1964. That combination of racing instinct and industrial nerve is what turned pleasure sailing from an expensive hobby into something ordinary people could buy into.
Jeanneau joined Groupe Beneteau in 1995 and now builds over 4,000 boats a year from its Vendée base. The Sun Odyssey range is the charter workhorse, and recent generations added walk-around side decks and twin helms that make a boat of this size genuinely manageable for a couple.
