Semela Motor Yacht

Semela burns 386 litres of fuel an hour under way, a figure worth knowing before a week aboard her. She is a Navetta from Absolute Yachts, a 75ft (23m) motor yacht delivered in 2024 and driven by Volvo Penta IPS drives.

Accommodation and crew

Eight guests sleep in four cabins, each with its own bathroom: three of them have queen beds – the master, a VIP and a double – and the fourth is a twin. Her crew of three are a captain, a stewardess who is also the cook, and a deckhand, so with a full complement aboard there are fewer crew than guests. The captain holds a Yachtmaster Offshore certificate and is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and the deckhand has worked as a lifeguard and a swimming coach, which counts when guests are in the water.

Comfort under way

A Seakeeper 18 gyro stabiliser holds her steady, so there is less roll to live with at anchor or on passage. She cruises at 12 knots and has 20 knots at the top when there is ground to cover.

On deck

Semela's flybridge carries an outdoor galley, a wet bar and a table for eight, so all eight overnight guests can sit down to a meal in the open air. The sunbed on the bow converts from a flat tanning area to a lounging one, there is an outdoor shower, and the swim platform aft puts the sea a step from the deck. Inside, the main-deck saloon and dining area sit within large expanses of glass, and the sea stays in view from the table.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Corsica, in France, and she works the West Mediterranean from there, along the coast of France, into Monaco and over to Italy. A Mercedes van is at the guests' disposal throughout their stay, for airport transfers and for exploring the South of France by road.

Charter notes

Semela is for hire by the week or for three days, with July and August as her peak, and at eight guests she fits a family or a group of friends. Tied up alongside a quay she can take eighteen for a private event, so the eight who sleep aboard can host a far larger party in port.
