Galaxy Superyacht
About Galaxy
A beach club at the waterline and a lift between her decks are the two pieces of engineering that most shape a stay on Galaxy: the first puts the sea a step from the yacht, the second takes the stairs out of moving between decks. Stefano Natucci drew her exterior and Zuretti her interior, and she is a 184ft (56m) Benetti superyacht, built in 2005 and refitted in 2017.
Accommodation and crew
Twelve guests sleep across her six cabins, and the number aboard by day does not rise above that, so the party by day is never larger than the party that stays the night. Fifteen crew look after them, more than a single crew member for each guest.
Comfort under way
Her stabilisers are the zero-speed kind, so they carry on working once the anchor is down and take the roll out of the hull while she lies still as well as while she is moving. Under way Galaxy holds a cruise of 14 knots and can be pushed to 24 knots for a longer passage.
On deck
A deck jacuzzi puts hot water in the open air, and the swim platform gives a second way into the sea in addition to the beach club. There is a gym aboard, so a training routine need not pause afloat, and a cinema fed by satellite television and video on demand for a film at sea. Her helipad lets a helicopter set down on her.
Water toys
Seven toys come with her. A single Wave Runner, water skis and towable toys cover the fast side of the water, a windsurfer and a kayak the slower side under sail and paddle, and snorkelling gear opens up what lies beneath the surface, while her beach tender carries the party to the shore.
Where she cruises
St Vincent, in the Grenadines, is her home port, and Galaxy is the second-longest yacht based there. From it she works the Grenadines, Barbados and Grenada, three separate grounds within reach of a single hire.
Charter notes
Two couples travelling together, or a family, are the guests she fits best, and she is offered for a single day, for three days or for a full week, with December through to March her peak, so the stay can run as short or as long as the group's time allows.
