About Midnight Moon
A hydraulic swim platform and a tender garage make Midnight Moon a yacht built around getting on and off the water quickly, not just looking at it from the deck. Horizon delivered her in 2018 on the FD85 platform, and a 2025 refit kept her current before she came to Boatcrowd from Palm Beach Gardens.
Build and provenance
She is a Horizon FD85, a fibreglass monohull on the yard's flybridge platform. At 26 metres and 85ft, with a beam of 7.1 metres and a draft of 1.8 metres, she carries the proportions the FD series is known for. Her 2025 refit is recent enough that a buyer takes on a yacht already brought current, and her low engine hours mean less wear behind that refit than her age alone would suggest.
Layout and accommodation
Four cabins sleep eight guests, and a crew of three run the boat day to day, a compact complement suited to a flybridge yacht built for cruising rather than full-service hosting. The master stateroom sits on the main deck rather than below, with open sightlines to the water that a lower-deck cabin cannot match.
Performance and engineering
Two Caterpillar C32 engines rated at 1600hp give her an eighteen-knot cruise and a top speed of 24 knots, enough to cover a day's run and still have the afternoon left. Recently added navigation electronics bring her helm up to date without touching the systems underneath.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
