Philotimo Power Catamaran

Two Seabobs and fishing tackle travel with Philotimo, a 63ft (19m) power catamaran launched by Lagoon in 2017, and most of what she offers a group happens at the waterline.

On deck

A swim platform turns the sea into a step down rather than a climb, going in and coming back out again.

Water toys

Nine toys come with her. The two Seabobs put two people on the water at once, and the pair of paddleboards does the same for another two; there are water skis, a kneeboard and inflatable toys as well. A kayak and a 14ft paddle skiff suit quieter paddling around an anchorage, snorkelling gear is aboard for the reefs, and the fishing tackle gives the day a second purpose. A 16ft Honda tender runs guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Tortola is her home port, and she works the waters of the British Virgin Islands and the USVI, along with St Martin, St Barths and Anguilla. Antigua and Barbuda and the Grenadines are within her reach too.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight, three of them with a queen bed and the fourth with twins, and a crew of three runs her through a year-round season that peaks in January, February, March and December. The cabins are air-conditioned and Wi-Fi reaches through the boat, so guests can stay in touch from wherever they settle.

Comfort under way

Her catamaran hull gives her beam and a level deck, and she cruises at 12 knots with 16 in hand when there is distance to cover.

Charter notes

Philotimo suits a family or a group of friends, and a hire runs either a full week or three days. Eight sleep aboard and up to twelve can be with her for the day, so a charter can take in more people than she berths.
