Okinawa Sailing Catamaran

Fishing gear goes to sea aboard Okinawa, and a Seabob travels with it, so a guest can put a line over the side while the anchor is down. She is a 59ft (18m) Fountaine Pajot sailing catamaran built in 2024.

Where she cruises

Her home port is St Vincent in the Grenadines, and she works the rest of the Grenadines and Grenada, with St Lucia and Martinique also in her range. Guadeloupe, Antigua and Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire are hers as well, and she also sails France, Spain and Italy, so her grounds span the Caribbean and the Mediterranean and a guest choosing her has the choice of two seas.

Accommodation and crew

Five double cabins sleep ten guests, and by day she can carry twelve. A crew of three sails her and looks after everyone aboard, and with air conditioning and Wi-Fi running through her the inside stays cool and the group stays in touch with home.

Comfort under way

Okinawa cruises at 8 knots and makes 10 knots at most, so a passage is taken at a sailing pace rather than run hard, and she moves on two hulls, which is what keeps a catamaran level under way.

On deck

A barbecue is part of her kit, so a meal can be cooked over a flame in the open air.

Water toys

An 11ft tender takes guests ashore, and beyond the fishing gear and the Seabob she carries two paddleboards, so two can paddle off at the same time, water skis and a wakeboard for towing, floating mats to lie on in the water, and snorkelling gear for a look beneath the surface.

Charter notes

Okinawa suits two couples or a family, and her fullest months fall from December through March and again in July and August. She can be booked for a full week or for a three-day charter, so a first hire aboard her need not be a long one.
