Serenity IV Sailing Catamaran

Fishing gear and snorkelling kit both travel aboard Serenity IV, so the water around her can be fished as readily as it can be swum in. She is a 48ft (15m) sailing catamaran built by Dufour in 2019.

Water toys

A SUP board and a kayak let guests paddle away from an anchorage under their own power, and a towable tube behind her 13ft dinghy gives a faster ride to anyone who wants it; the dinghy is also how the group goes ashore. Floating mats, a Bote Dock and two inflatable chairs turn the water beside her into somewhere to sit as well as somewhere to swim.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. From there the British Virgin Islands and the USVI are her home waters, while Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama also sit within her range, which gives a group more to weigh up than the home islands alone.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight guests, three of them with a queen bed and the fourth with twin beds, and all four are air-conditioned. By day she can carry twelve people, looked after by a crew of two.

Comfort under way

She sails at 8 knots with 10 knots at the top end, and Wi-Fi aboard keeps anyone who needs it in contact – her busiest months run from December through March.

On deck

A bimini puts shade over the deck, the barbecue means a meal can be cooked and eaten in the open air, and the swim platform makes getting into the water and back out of it straightforward.

Charter notes

Serenity IV suits a family or a group of friends of up to eight, and she is available for three days as well as for a full week, so a shorter hire works as well as a longer charter.
