Ithaka Sailing Catamaran

It is the day figure that stands out first on Ithaka, a 55ft (17m) sailing catamaran launched by Bali Catamarans in 2022: twelve guests can be aboard for a day on the water.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins, each with a queen bed, sleep eight overnight, and air conditioning keeps them comfortable once the hatches are closed. A crew of two runs her, and Wi-Fi aboard keeps the boat connected.

Comfort under way

Under sail she settles at 8 knots, and 12 knots is the top of her range.

On deck

Her swim platform brings guests down to sea level, so getting into the water and back out again takes no effort.

Water toys

Nine pieces of kit travel with Ithaka, among them two Seabobs, two paddleboards that put two guests on the water at once, a kayak, water skis, a kneeboard and two floating mats. Gear for snorkelling and for fishing comes too, and a 13ft tender takes guests ashore.

Where she cruises

St Thomas is her home port in the USVI, and she also sails the wider USVI, the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Charter notes

Ithaka suits a family or a group of friends who want an easy boat with the water always to hand. She sails year-round, with December, January, February and March her busiest months, and three-day charters are offered, so a family can hire her for a short trip rather than a full week.
