Adara Sailing Catamaran
About Adara
Thirty litres an hour is what Adara burns under engine, and the rest of the way she is driven by sail – a 50ft (15m) sailing catamaran, built by Sunreef Yachts in 2020.
Where she cruises
Athens is Adara's home port and Greece is her cruising ground, her peak months July and August, so the sailing stays within a single country's waters.
Accommodation and crew
Four cabins sleep eight guests, with a pullman berth adding a further place to turn in, and twelve can be aboard by day. Two crew run her, so nobody in the party has to handle a line or an anchor.
Comfort under way
She holds 7 knots and will run to 12, an unhurried pace between one bay and the next.
On deck
Her swim platform puts the sea within a step of the deck, so going in and climbing back aboard takes no effort.
Water toys
Seven toys travel with her, and a 13ft ZAR tender takes people ashore. Two Seabobs come aboard, two paddleboards let a pair set off across the water under their own steam, and three sets of water skis and a wakeboard are there for anyone who wants to be towed.
Charter notes
Adara suits a family or a group of friends, and fishing tackle and snorkelling gear come with the hire, so the water alongside her counts for as much of the day as the sailing.
