Verina Star Sailing Catamaran

Fishing tackle and a stand-up paddleboard both travel with Verina Star, two of the seven toys she carries, so a guest can drop a line over the side or paddle away from her on the board. She is a 54ft (16m) Lagoon sailing catamaran, built in 2023.

Comfort under way

Her two hulls keep her level under sail, so the deck stays a flat place to stand while she is moving. When the engines take over she cruises at 9 knots with 10 knots as her top speed, burning 40 litres of fuel an hour, and at that pace she is not a boat for hurrying between stops.

On deck

A swim platform makes the sea a short step down and a short climb back, which is what a week of swimming and towing asks for most.

Water toys

Behind the 13ft Highfield tender go the towing toys: water skis, a wakeboard, and a towable tube for whoever would rather hold on and be pulled than stand up. Snorkelling gear rounds out her kit, so the water beneath her is there to look into as well as swim in, and the same tender that pulls the tube is the boat that carries the party to the shore.

Where she cruises

Verina Star is based at Mykonos and cruises Greece, and July and August are the months when her season is at its height.

Accommodation and crew

Ten guests sleep aboard in five cabins, in four queen beds and two twins, and by day she can take twelve. A crew of three sails her, air conditioning in the cabins keeps the sleeping hours cool, and there is Wi-Fi for staying in touch.

Verina Star suits two couples or a family on a week's charter in Greece, a hire where the toys come with the boat: a rod, a paddleboard, skis, a board and a tube to be towed on, and a tender to run the party to the beach and back.
