Nataraja Motor Sailer

Diving is built into Nataraja rather than added later: she carries a dive compressor and scuba equipment, and her cruise director doubles as a dive instructor, so newcomers and practised divers are both looked after in the water.

Water toys

Sea kayaks and paddleboards come out in the shallow bays, with snorkelling gear for anyone happier on the surface. Two tenders handle the runs ashore, a 6.5 m fibreglass boat and a 6 m plastic one, each on a 40 HP outboard.

Where she cruises

Komodo is Nataraja's home port and she also works out of Raja Ampat, cruising Indonesia year-round, busiest in January, February, March and December. Komodo National Park takes in Padar and Rinca, with Komodo dragons ashore, manta rays in the water and a pink beach. Raja Ampat spreads small islands, cays and lagoons across the Coral Triangle, and the Banda Islands add volcanic peaks and hammerhead sharks.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins take up to eight guests, each with its own bathroom and air conditioning, and the master opens directly onto the swimming platform. Eleven crew run her, more than one for every guest.

Comfort under way

Yann Martinie built her in 2015 in ironwood and teak, a 105ft (32m) motor sailer cruising at 7 knots with 9 at most.

On deck

The foredeck carries a dining table and sunbeds in the open air, and the chill lounge on the main deck aft has loungers and a sofa. A chef cooks in an open kitchen, blending Asian and Western dishes, while a bartender handles the drinks and a therapist gives massages.

Charter notes

Nataraja suits a family or friends, up to eight, drawn to Indonesia for its reefs and for treks ashore. The charter runs by the week or for three days, so a group can choose a short trip or a full week.
