Augustine Phinisi Motor Sailer

Yoga mats and light fitness equipment travel with Augustine Phinisi, spa treatments can be arranged on request, and while ten guests sleep aboard, fifteen can be with her for a day on the water. She was built in 2020 at Tanahberu, a 104ft (32m) motor sailer planked in ironwood and teak.

Where she cruises

Raja Ampat is her home port and she stays within Indonesia, her peak months January to March, June to August and December. Coral reefs lie within reach for snorkelling, and guided treks ashore lead to hidden islands and viewpoints.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep ten in two doubles, two twins and two pullman berths, each with an ensuite and hot water, air conditioning, and a private balcony to some. A crew of nine, cruise director included, is close to a crew member for each guest.

Comfort under way

She cruises at eight knots and tops out at ten, so distances pass slowly; she is built in timber, in the traditional Phinisi style of Indonesia.

On deck

The deck jacuzzi is open to the view, and she carries a rooftop deck, two outdoor lounges and an air-conditioned dining room indoors. An outdoor cinema setup puts films in the open air, and an indoor lounge holds a karaoke system and a Smart TV.

Water toys

A paddleboard, a kayak and a floating trampoline come aboard, with floaties and full snorkelling gear for the reefs. Her tender runs guests ashore, where the crew can lay out a beach setup.

Charter notes

Augustine Phinisi is chartered by the week, and the rental suits two couples travelling together or a family. Children's life jackets, a crib on request, a baby chair with baby-friendly cutlery, waterproof mats, board games and a shelf of books are already aboard, so a family arrives carrying less.
